Greiner Assistec is dedicated to manufacturing customized plastic parts and products as well as assembling them and finishing them in line with individual specifications. The company’s motto, “mastering complexity,” guides it in all its activities. Starting from the product development stage, Greiner Assistec supports its customers with technological expertise and innovative services and helps them to achieve successful results by means of finely tuned processes.

Greiner Assistec’s employees are engaged in a range of exciting jobs, where they enjoy extensive opportunities for training and further education. There’s also a possibility of traveling internationally on assignment to other Greiner Assistec locations. This is a chance not only to gain new professional skills, but also to gather unique experiences and impressions that they’ll carry with them throughout their lives, as Angelika Stieg, plastics engineer at the St. Gallen location in Austria, can attest.

The 23-year-old was given the opportunity to work for six weeks at the Monterrey location in Mexico from January to February of this year. It’s a time that she will always remember.

It was an experience of a lifetime that I’ll never forget, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat

Despite the cultural differences and the linguistic barriers in Mexico, Angelika felt at ease from the very start, not least because of the open and friendly attitude of the local employees. “Although I was only there for a short time, they accepted me immediately with open arms – and the feeling was mutual!”

In her spare time, she also had the chance to familiarize herself with the country and immerse herself in the local culture. She visited all the key locations and attractions in Monterrey, often accompanied by her colleagues. The highlight of her trip was a week-long vacation in Mexico, which she added at the end of her stay. From the hot-air balloon trip over the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon to the graffiti bike tour through Mexico City – Angelika enjoyed her short break to the fullest.

When asked whether she would travel abroad for work again, Angelika says she wouldn’t hesitate. For her, it’s been a life-changing experience, and each additional trip would leave an even deeper impression on her.
